President of Faso Honors Resilient Teacher in Yagha Province

Ouagadougou: The President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, extended a letter of congratulations and encouragement to Abdoulaye Ly, a dedicated teacher in Yagha province, acknowledging his professional dedication and perseverance amidst security and humanitarian challenges.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Abdoulaye Ly, who was awarded the Liptako region's Best Resilient Teacher Award, received a motorcycle, a computer, a helmet, a T-shirt, a notepad, and a pen as part of the recognition. This award not only acknowledges his efforts but also serves as a tribute to all resilient teachers in the Liptako region. Upon receiving the award, Mr. Ly expressed deep emotion and humility, emphasizing that the honor extends to all educators who persistently hold the chalk against adversity.

Mr. Ly also acknowledged the significant role played by the Defense and Security Forces and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) in sustaining educational activities in areas threatened by terrorism. In his acceptance speech, he dedicated the award to his fellow educators who continue their duties despite security threats and urged those who have left to return when conditions improve, highlighting the collective goal of rebuilding a robust educational system rooted in local values.

The award-winning teacher committed to furthering education in Yagha province by supporting young colleagues and launching educational projects to boost the resilience of the school system. Mr. Bali Bako, Chief Inspector of the Basic Education District of Sebba, applauded the recognition from national authorities, noting that it underscores the importance of efforts to sustain education in challenging areas. He expressed gratitude to the Head of State, the Minister of Education, and regional and provincial officials, highlighting that such recognition motivates teachers to enhance the quality of education.
