Burkina Faso: UNDP Donates Equipment to Dori Regional Hospital to Enhance Patient Care

Dori: The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), through its Local Governance and Social Cohesion (GoLCoS) project, has provided a significant donation of medical equipment to the Dori Regional Hospital Centre (CHR). The donation, valued at 20 million FCFA, includes 60 hospital beds and 70 hospital mattresses, aimed at enhancing the conditions for patients during their hospital stay.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this contribution is part of the UNDP funding windows supported by Denmark, Luxembourg, and the Republic of Korea. Stphane Zagr, the general manager of the Dori Regional Hospital, highlighted that this donation resulted from advocacy efforts led by Abdoul Karim Zongo, the governor of the Sahel region, in collaboration with the UNDP.

Zagr emphasized that the new equipment will aid in the larger project of renewing the hospital's infrastructure and improving patient accommodation. He assured that the hospital would utilize the equipment effectively to benefit the patients' well-being.

During the handover ceremony, UNDP representative Haoua Moussa Ciss expressed optimism that the donated equipment would provide comfort, dignity, and hope to the patients. She reaffirmed UNDP's commitment to supporting the hospital in its future endeavors and requirements.

Governor Abdoul Karim Zongo conveyed the community's gratitude to the UNDP and stressed the importance of the proper utilization of the received equipment. He also acknowledged the dedication of the hospital's management and healthcare staff.

The donation from UNDP, along with the efforts of the regional special delegation, signifies a robust commitment to improving healthcare conditions in the Sahel region.
