Banwa: High Commissioner Sanfi©nal© Joseph Sirima called on the population to communicate responsibly on social media during the traditional rotating flag-raising ceremony at Solenzo Town Hall on Monday, February 2, 2026, in the presence of leaders from different social groups.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the province's top official emphasized that words shared on social media carry weight and messages have an impact. "Let's use these modern tools to inform, raise awareness, and mobilize positively, not to demoralize or discourage those of goodwill who work tirelessly, often in difficult conditions, for the common good," the High Commissioner stated in his address.
Mr. Sirima also urged individuals to verify their sources of information and contemplate the consequences of their online publications, warning that false or malicious information could be disseminated by adversaries masquerading as friends or patriots to sow doubt and division.
The High Commissioner expressed appreciation for the efforts of Faso Mªbo agency contributors and acknowledged the generosity of the donors supporting the d¨m¨ sira campaign.
Public and private sector employees were invited to the flag-raising ceremony as a prelude to the public servants' day, scheduled for February 13 and 14, with preparations already underway.
