Gourma: The governor of the Goulmou region, Ram Joseph Kafando, called on public officials this Tuesday, February 3, 2026, to break with all practices contrary to the proper functioning of the Progressive and Popular Revolution (RPP), during the traditional raising of the national colors in February.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the constituted bodies of the Goulmou region, under the chairmanship of the Governor of the Goulmou region, Ram Joseph Kafando, demonstrated their patriotism by singing the national anthem in unison during the flag-raising ceremony. This solemn moment provided the setting for a powerful address by the regional leader, focused on ethics, discipline, and a revolutionary commitment to public affairs.
In his message, Ram Joseph Kafando urged all public officials and administrative leaders to adopt sound professional practices, resolutely breaking with corruption and all abuses that hinder the effectiveness of public services. "We are in a gradual and popular revolution. Therefore, a revolutionary must rid Burkina Faso of everything that is harmful," he declared, calling on everyone to engage in individual and collective self-reflection.
To illustrate his point, the governor referred to the reforms undertaken in the education sector. Mr. Kafando recalled that the Minister of Basic Education, on a regional tour focused on educational reforms, emphasized that these reforms center on major shifts to be implemented within the framework of the RPP (Reform of Public Policies).
According to the governor, these reforms reflect the authorities' commitment to a lasting transformation of mindsets and practices, placing the public interest above all personal considerations. He also commended the efforts made by the region's institutions, efforts which, according to him, are reflected in the results recorded by the Ministry of Finance during the 2025 performance evaluation.
These results, he indicated, demonstrate the growing commitment of public services to improving resource mobilization and the quality of administrative management. Finally, Ram Joseph Kafando urged public servants in Goulmou to maintain this positive momentum, making integrity, patriotism, and a sense of duty the cornerstones of their daily work, in service to the Nation and the ideals of the progressive and popular revolution.
