Kourittenga: Administrative, traditional, and religious authorities of Kourittenga province raised the national flag at the provincial headquarters of the National Police, urging community leaders to embrace the new development framework for the next five years. The ceremony took place on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, symbolizing a call for unity and collaboration among the province's key stakeholders.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the provincial director of the National Police in Kourittenga, Bienvenue Ouarme, expressed gratitude for hosting the ceremony. He highlighted the achievements of 2025, attributing the success to the collaboration with the local population. Mr. Ouarme emphasized the importance of continued support from citizens to meet the objectives for 2026.
Moctar Ilboudo, the High Commissioner of Kourittenga province, explained that holding the event at the police premises was a gesture of appreciation for the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) for their role in stabilizing the territory. During the event, the provincial authority unveiled the "Recovery Plan," a new development framework aimed at guiding the province over the next five years. Ilboudo urged all residents to embrace this initiative, describing it as a plan for the entire Burkinabe community.
In the education sector, the High Commissioner addressed the issue of student absences during civic and patriotic training sessions in the municipalities. He reminded the audience of the mandatory nature of these sessions and called on educational institutions and parents to ensure student participation. Additionally, the High Commissioner encouraged the people of Kourittenga to engage in the registration process for the biometric card of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES).
