Namentenga Province Records 20% Increase in National Solidarity Fund Contributions

Namentenga: The contribution of the province of Namentenga to the National Solidarity and Social Resilience Fund (FNS-RS), as of February 2, 2026, has seen an increase of 20% compared to that of 2024.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the provincial director in charge of Family and Solidarity, Noregma Ouedraogo, indicated that the provisional balance of contributions from socio-professional groups in the province to the FNS-RS, from January 1st to 31st, 2026, amounts to 1,154,525 FCFA. The contribution from students and teachers in the province is estimated at 664,350 FCFA, representing 57.54% of the total amount. This significant contribution in 2025 is 20% higher than that of 2024, which amounted to 913,050 FCFA.

The High Commissioner of Namentenga Province, Adama Conseiga, expressed gratitude to the various socio-professional groups for their strong sense of patriotism, particularly students and teachers. Mr. Conseiga also specified that contributions from those who have not yet paid are still welcome until further notice. Special mention was made of the province's students and teachers, whose contributions represent more than 58% of all provincial contributions.

According to the provincial director in charge of Solidarity, the funds raised support the care of orphans and other vulnerable children attending school, as well as indigent people in hospitals. This aligns with the National Solidarity Charter adopted in 2009. 'No one is so poor as not to be able to show solidarity, and no one is so wealthy as to be able to do without the solidarity of others,' emphasized Noregma Ouedraogo.

The FNS-RS has enabled the financing of income-generating activities in Namentenga for the benefit of four vulnerable women, as well as covering the school fees of students with disabilities and a young girl admitted to the Charles-De-Gaulle pediatric ward in Ouagadougou.
