Silly: Installation of Executive Office of Municipal School Council Marks New Era in Educational Governance

Silly: The meeting room at Silly Town Hall served as the venue for the elective General Assembly of the executive board of the Municipal School Council, chaired by the Secretary General of the Town Hall, Mahamoudou Tapsoba, representing the President of the Special Delegation, Christophe N. Bonkoungou. This session marks a decisive step in local educational governance.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the educational landscape of the commune of Silly now has a new steering body. Key educational figures, including the Head of the Basic Education District (CCEB), Julcarnine Napon, school council presidents, pedagogical supervisors, school directors, as well as customary and religious leaders, convened to appoint members of the executive committee of the school councils in the commune.

The agenda was centered on establishing the municipal executive committee and appointing observer and oversight members. Participants described the voting process as transparent, leading to a consensus on the new members, with Benon Koame elected as president.

Julcarnine Napon, representing the CCEB, underscored the significance of this new structure. He stated, "This council is not just another body; it is the lever we must use for participatory management of our schools. Its success will depend on the synergy between parents, teachers, and local authorities."

Beyond the electoral proceedings, the assembly served as a platform for commitment. The elected members and stakeholders pledged their full involvement in overseeing educational activities and supporting the structural reforms initiated by the Ministry of Basic Education, Literacy, and the Promotion of National Languages (MEBAPLN).

Speaking on behalf of the PDS, the Secretary General commended the sense of responsibility during the discussions. He remarked, "The municipality will stand alongside this office to meet the challenges of access to and quality of education. I urge each member to demonstrate integrity and to place the best interests of the student at the heart of every decision."

The meeting concluded with general satisfaction as the Secretary General officially installed the members in their positions, calling for close collaboration among all education partners for the success of their mission.
