Bougouriba: The High Commissioner of the Bougouriba province, Amidou Konate, presided over a consultation meeting with provincial stakeholders in Diebougou to exchange ideas and define the practical modalities for implementing the presidential Faso Mªbo initiative in the province.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this strategic meeting focused on inclusion and collective responsibility. It brought together administrative, judicial, traditional, and religious authorities, representatives of civil society organizations, and decentralized state technical services. The aim was to lay the groundwork for the concerted and effective implementation of Faso Mªbo, an initiative centered on the beautification, development, and sanitation of public spaces to provide the population with a healthy and pleasant living environment.
During the discussions, participants shared their analyses and proposals on organizational mechanisms, resource mobilization strategies, and priority actions to be taken on the ground. These contributions led to the establishment of a 25-member Provincial Steering Committee, tasked with coordinating all actions related to the initiative in Bougouriba.
The committee brings together stakeholders with expertise in finance, security, communications, and infrastructure. It also includes resource persons, such as community leaders and representatives of the diaspora, to strengthen community engagement and broaden the initiative's reach. Chaired by the Provincial Secretary General, Zenabo Kabore/Diallo, the committee will operate under the supervision of High Commissioner Amidou Konate and has been mandated to begin its work immediately.
The upcoming establishment of local committees in the various municipalities of the province will facilitate social mobilization and fundraising. Voluntary contributions have already begun at the town halls.
The official launch of the Faso Mªbo initiative in the Bougouriba province is scheduled for Saturday, February 28, 2026. The meeting ended in an atmosphere of civic engagement and shared hope, paving the way for a collective mobilization for a cleaner, more beautiful Bougouriba.
