Ioba Prefect Encourages 1,625 Students in Civic and Patriotic Program

Dissihn: The president of the special delegation of the commune of Dissihn, Benjamin Nana, visited students involved in civic and patriotic guidance in several establishments within the commune, aiming to encourage this initiative designed to strengthen their civic values.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the visit took place at the Dissihn departmental high school, where Nana engaged with students from intermediate classes participating in the program. This initiative involves 1,625 students across three high schools and one college in the municipality, focusing on civic and patriotic education to bolster societal values and address issues like insecurity, drugs, violence in schools, illicit trafficking, and discipline through strict order.

During his address, Nana emphasized the significance of values education, stating that "teaching without education does not yield meaningful results." He urged students to cultivate discipline as it is crucial for success and highlighted that early acquisition of these values would ease their integration into society. Students affirmed the relevance of their immersion experience after three weeks of the program.

The focal points of the schools involved have outlined four modules over a six-week period, emphasizing that education serves as an invaluable bulwark for the nation by shaping responsible and engaged citizens. Idrissou Nignan, principal of the Dissihn departmental high school, appreciated the prefect's visit and noted the rearrangement of timetables to facilitate the training.

Nignan also commended the volunteer teachers who supervised the students. In three weeks, learners reported acquiring knowledge related to order, discipline, hygiene, solidarity, living together, and the harmful effects of drugs. Some establishments in Dissihn are awaiting the second phase to benefit from civic and patriotic guidance.
