Bale: Police officers, in collaboration with the VDP and the Fara market management committee, led by Police Commissioner Lassina Kone, conducted an awareness campaign among traders and merchants to promote order and discipline at the Fara market. This initiative took place on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the field visit aimed to communicate suggestions from the special delegation of the Fara municipality during their sessions. It is part of the implementation of the vision of the Head of State. The police commissioner emphasized that these measures are mandatory for everyone, especially in public spaces like markets.
The initiative involved two major teams spreading the message of order, similar to the "Laabal" brigade, to prevent anarchic installations, vehicles driving through the market, improper waste disposal, and unsanitary practices. Commissioner Kone led the effort, personally walking through the market to deliver this message.
The disorganized setups around the market create disorder and restrict movement, affecting trade. The market is structured for merchants to occupy designated areas according to their expertise. Driving vehicles through the market poses dangers, causing accidents and damage, with designated parking areas available.
Proper waste disposal was emphasized to maintain a healthy environment. The ban on unsanitary practices was reiterated to prevent pollution and health risks from contaminated food. Merchants were receptive to the campaign, committing to adhere to the instructions and spread the message further.
The police commissioner concluded with a warning of penalties for future violations and encouraged everyone to maintain order. He expressed gratitude to the vendors for their cooperation and attentiveness during the campaign.
