Raising of the Colors in Tioyo: Patriotic Fervor Rekindled at CEG Under Municipal Authorities’ Watchful Eye

Tiankoura: The Tioyo General Education College (CEG) hosted the traditional rotating flag-raising ceremony in the Tiankoura commune on Monday, February 9. The event was presided over by Damou Bazi, President of the Tiankoura Special Delegation (PDS), amid an ongoing four-week civic and patriotic training program for middle school students.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony involved students, teaching and administrative staff, agents, and heads of public services from Tioyo and surrounding localities. Organized on a rotating basis across various establishments and public services, the flag-raising ceremony aims to strengthen national belonging and promote civic values. At Tioyo CEG, the ceremony was conducted with precision, as two students raised the flag while the national anthem was sung in the Lobiri language, under the supervision of the head of civic and patriotic education and district police commissioner Karim Dianda.

The students have been receiving guidance focused on patriotism, respect for authority, solidarity, discipline, and non-violence in the school environment over the past four weeks. The instructors aim to cultivate responsible and engaged citizens committed to serving the nation.

Following the flag-raising, PDS leader Damou Bazi emphasized the importance of investing in people for a country's development, stating, "In the progressive and popular revolution, the state is making investments, both in infrastructure and in the economy. But we must also invest in people. The revolutionaries we want tomorrow, we must train them today."

The head of the municipality expressed satisfaction with the training's impact on the students, praising the observed order, cleanliness, and behavior. He urged teaching staff to continue their work beyond the official training period, highlighting the role of teachers as the spearhead of the revolution and the importance of educating young people for a better future.

Parents and community members expressed admiration for the initiative. Yacouba Kambire, chairman of the school council's executive committee, voiced confidence that the civic and patriotic guidance would significantly contribute to the children's education and sense of responsibility.

In Tioyo, discipline, order, and patriotism are now emerging as essential benchmarks for the future.
