Poni: 805 students from the commune of Bouroum-Bouroum complete the first phase of civic and patriotic training: In total, 805 students from the departmental high school and the CEG of Bouroum-Bouroum participated in a mandatory patriotic immersion program. This initiative, launched by the country's authorities, is designed to cultivate disciplined and patriotic citizens committed to the nation's interests.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Brahima Kindo, the President of the Special Delegation of Bouroum-Bouroum, stated that the program aims to instill fundamental values essential for social cohesion and national development in young people. Over six weeks, students received 36 hours of training divided into three modules, covering topics like order, discipline, national identity, patriotism, the fight against violent extremism, school hygiene, civic responsibility, security, environmental education, road safety, solidarity, and tolerance.
Kindo emphasized that the conclusion of this immersion marks the beginning of a concrete commitment, encouraging students to apply the knowledge gained from the training within their families, communities, and studies. Student representative Sami Edmond DA expressed appreciation for the enriched training, highlighting the acquisition of essential values such as honor, discipline, civic-mindedness, patriotism, and living together. He assured that students would implement the lessons to actively contribute to Burkina Faso's development.
Students also engaged in practical exercises, including group movements, directional changes, and ceremonial arrangements for the national colors, aimed at reinforcing discipline, respect for national symbols, and responsibility. The ceremony included expressions of gratitude to parents, civil society actors, police, Water and Forestry agents, teaching staff, and the Bouroum-Bouroum community for their support throughout the program.
