According to Burkina Information Agency, in the basic education district of the commune of Gaongo, the Burkina Faso Calligraphy Teachers' Club (CEC-B) organized a calligraphy competition. About ten students from the middle school (CM) classes of Gaongo "A", Gaongo "B", Douaba, Tanwoko and Zabretenga took part in this competition. The organizers' objective is to promote neat cursive handwriting and civic values in schools. The competition also aims to encourage young students to apply themselves to their writing, both in school and later in the professional world, especially in the digital age.

Held under the theme "I write carefully to honor my nation," this day dedicated to calligraphy students is an initiative of a group of teachers from the Gaongo CEB (Basic Education Center). According to the organizer, Issouf S©dogo, this day was initiated to encourage young students in the community to reconsider handwriting in school, especially in a world dominated by digital technology. At the end of the competition, Tatiana Nikiema, a student in the CM1 class at the Tanwoko school, won the prize.

Throughout the day, several activities kept the event participants engaged. These included an inter-school cursive writing competition, a conference on cursive writing in primary school, and cultural activities such as a recital, slam poetry, and artistic performances.

The head of the CEB of Gaongo, Youssouf Bassia, congratulated the organizers for this initiative, which he said was an educational project that builds upon the work done in the classrooms. He reiterated his commitment to supporting his colleagues in such activities. The day's events were held in the presence of Souleymane Diallo, President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the Gaongo municipality, teachers, students, the educational community, and the Defense and Security Forces (FDS).

Mr. Sedogo, who was delighted with the holding of this first edition, expressed his gratitude to the PDS and the head of the constituency for their interest in the event. He also thanked the teachers, security personnel, partners, and the community for their support. For Issouf S©dogo, this first edition opens up great prospects for future editions.
