CNAVC Engages Baba Coulibaly University Students on Popular Progressive Revolution Ideals

Bobo-dioulasso: The National Coordination of Citizen Watch Associations (CNAVC), Houet section, organized a public conference at Baba Coulibaly University to enlighten students about the ideals of the Popular Progressive Revolution (RPP) in Burkina Faso. The event, held on February 27, 2026, aimed to foster awareness on civic duty, responsibility, and commitment to national service among the student community.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this initiative follows CNAVC Houet's previous outreach efforts at Sya Sanou High School and seeks to deepen students' understanding of the RPP's core principles. The organizers emphasized the importance of engaging young people in the movement's foundational values and encouraging their civic participation.

El Hadj Zakaria Sore, president of CNAVC Houet, addressed the students, emphasizing the inclusive nature of the revolution initiated by Comrade Ibrahim Traore. He urged the students to embrace patriotism, civic responsibility, courage, and a commitment to national service, highlighting their potential role as future leaders.

Speaker Sie Fran§ois Coulibaly elaborated on the National Reform Program (RPP) during the conference. He focused on the significant contributions students can make to the national agenda under Captain Ibrahim Traore's leadership, stressing their role in reinforcing national achievements and fostering a sovereign Burkina Faso.

Elis Somda, Secretary General of the CNAVC Houet student and higher education association, lauded the strong student turnout and the active participation of the University of Burkina Faso's administration. He noted that the conferences are designed to cultivate awareness among students to guard them against "imperialist" influences and guide them toward responsible decision-making for the country's future.

The students welcomed the initiative, recognizing the conference as an opportunity to gain insights into national policies and align their actions with the development and sovereignty goals set by the authorities.

The event commenced with participants gathering around the national flag, reaffirming their dedication to the homeland and the reclamation of national territory. The ceremony featured notable attendees, including Hermann Yelkouy, third vice-president of the Transitional Legislative Assembly, Omar Traore, special envoy to the presidency of the Guiriko region, and several administrative, paramilitary, and educational representatives.
