Sebba: The religious community of the city of Sebba celebrated a collective breaking of the fast on February 28, 2026, bringing together Muslims, Christians, customary and administrative authorities, under the banner of social cohesion, AIB observed.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the initiative aims to strengthen solidarity and living together in a context marked by the constant search for peace. At the invitation of the three mosques of Sebba on this tenth day of fasting, Muslim worshippers, representatives of the Christian communities, traditional chiefs, and local authorities gathered at the Tijania Grand Mosque to break their fast and share a meal. This interfaith gathering, which has become a local symbol of fraternity, provided an opportunity for dialogue and closer ties between the city's diverse social groups. Over a shared meal, the participants reaffirmed their commitment to preserving unity and promoting the values of solidarity.

During the ceremony, Mr. Cisse Yaya, representing the Muslim community, recalled that the meeting was in keeping with the tradition of Islam, which promotes unity and mutual support, especially during periods of fasting. He emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between residents, believing that brotherhood is one of the essential foundations of living together. His message, which was widely heard, highlighted the need to maintain spaces for dialogue and sharing in a context where social harmony remains a major issue.

The second vice-president of the city's special delegation, Mr. Bali Bako, added to this by urging the population to cultivate love for their neighbor, a value common to all religions. According to him, a united society is based first and foremost on goodwill among its citizens. He encouraged the continuation of this initiative in order to make it a lasting event serving social cohesion, before making an appeal for a swift return of peace throughout the country.

The next meeting is scheduled for the twentieth day of fasting within the grounds of the Sunni mosque in Sebba.
