Namentenga: The High Commissioner of Namentenga Province, Adama Conseiga, presided over a flag-raising ceremony at Boulsa East Public Primary School. The event included a civics lesson for the students, emphasizing the theme "Social cohesion and living together," reflecting the school's commitment to civic participation and national development.
According to Burkina Information Agency, several dignitaries, including the chairman of the school council, Isidore Sawadogo, the headmistress, Tiemtore/Bonkoungou Josiane, and Inspector Rasmane Bikienga, representing the provincial director of preschool, primary, and non-formal education, praised the initiative. Lieutenant Gerard Sindogo, commander of the Cheetah unit, also expressed support for the ceremony's objectives, and the speakers highlighted the importance of social cohesion while discussing the role of parents and students in the context of educational reforms in Burkina Faso.
High Commissioner Adama Conseiga addressed a request from the school director regarding the construction of a perimeter wall. He instructed Issaka Sangla, president of the Boulsa municipal special delegation, to notify illegal property occupants and invited partners to support the project. Mr. Conseiga also raised awareness about stray dogs in Boulsa and thanked the NGO NRSI for assisting 494 children, including internally displaced persons, in obtaining birth certificates.
During the ceremony, students sang the national anthem in the Moore language and organized a collection that raised 59,250 CFA francs for people in need.
