Mouhoun: The regional director in charge of Secondary Education in Bankui, Raoul Sanon, chaired the second management council meeting of the 2025-2026 school year on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, in Dedougou. According to Burkina Information Agency, the management council serves as a framework for consultation and guidance of the regional directorate's activities. It is a space for exchanging points of view, sharing experiences, and formulating suggestions on the implementation of activities by the Regional Directorate of Secondary Education and Vocational and Technical Training.
The session focused specifically on reviewing back-to-school reports, presenting the educational assessment of the first term, and examining preparations for the end-of-year school and professional examinations. The back-to-school report indicates that the region has 213 public general education establishments, including 118 post-primary and 95 secondary, and 82 private establishments, 58 of which are accredited.
For technical education, there are 12 public institutions and 5 private ones. In terms of student numbers, there are 84,954 students in general education and 1,196 in technical education.
The first-term academic report shows a success rate of 62.20% for post-primary general education and 58.73% for secondary education, with an overall rate of 61.50%. Technical education displays a success rate of 76.67%. The analysis highlighted both student performances and noted shortcomings in certain disciplines or establishments.
