Nayala: The women of Nayala province marked International Women's Day by presenting a symbolic donation of 176,500 FCFA to the Faso Mªbo initiative. This gesture was made to the High Commissioner of the Nayala province, Honore Frederic Pare, in support of the initiative's goals.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the High Commissioner praised the women for their civic engagement and highlighted that the Faso Mªbo initiative seeks to involve various social groups in the construction and beautification of the country, as well as the development of infrastructure. The event commemorating March 8 was held at the Women's House in Toma, focusing on the theme: "Building lasting peace in Burkina Faso: what contribution of women and girls to the promotion of living together."
The ceremony gathered women from multiple communes in the province to deliberate on their contributions to peacebuilding and local development. The event's godmother, Rose De Lina Ki, also known as "Auntie Rose," encouraged participants to engage more in income-generating activities and training that would enhance their capabilities. She expressed her hope for future events to provide women with opportunities to demonstrate their skills, especially in weaving, dyeing, and other economic activities.
Provincial women's coordinator, Foro Elisabeth, commended the participants for their dedication to peace and development. She stated that the symbolic contribution to the presidential initiative Faso Mªbo was a collective effort from the communal and provincial women's coordinating bodies.
