Ouahigouya: The Minister of Basic Education, Literacy and the Promotion of National Languages, Jacques Sosth¨ne Dingara, engaged with the educational community and constituted bodies in a meeting held at the town hall's reception hall in Ouahigouya to discuss the ongoing educational reforms.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Minister Dingara, supported by his staff and representatives from the Yaadga region, including Governor Thomas Yampa, listened to a presentation by Pascal Waongo, the regional director of preschool, primary, and non-formal education. The presentation outlined educational reforms such as school gardens, English language teaching, ICT, and vocational training.
The regional director emphasized the commitment and determination of the educational community in implementing these reforms despite material and technical challenges. Marcel Guigma from the Directorate General for Quality Education suggested additional strategies like off-site farming, self-directed learning, and knowledge and personnel sharing to enhance the reform efforts.
Minister Dingara commended the stakeholders for achieving an 80% implementation rate of the reforms and acknowledged their dedication to reviving local values. He also announced plans to expedite administrative processes to support MEBAPLN agents, aiming for sustainable success in educating young Burkinabe.
