Kourweogo: The Secretary General of Kourweogo Province, Harouna Kombassere, officially installed tax inspector Nomwende Julien Ouedraogo as the new Provincial Director of Taxes for Kourweogo in Bousse. He called for the optimal mobilization of sovereign financial resources for the economic and social development of Burkina Faso.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Nomwende Julien Ouedraogo was appointed at the Council of Ministers on February 12, 2026, and took office on March 12, 2026, at the head of the provincial tax directorate of Kourweogo. He succeeds Lassane Zabre, who served in the province for five years.
The new provincial director of Taxes expressed gratitude to his superiors for choosing him to lead the directorate. He acknowledged the responsibility of maintaining the momentum set by his predecessors and the challenge of raising the provincial directorate higher amidst national security and economic sovereignty issues.
Highlighting the need for collaboration, Mr. Ouedraogo requested support from superiors, administrative authorities, and local officials. He urged colleagues to unite and collaborate to achieve management's objectives, pledging to improve staff working conditions and service quality for taxpayers.
The outgoing director, Lassane Zabre, reflected on his five-year tenure as a period of learning, challenges, and collective efforts. He reported that the department collected 1,547,863,095 CFA francs from 2021 to 2025, surpassing the forecast of 1,364,066,480 CFA francs, achieving a rate of 116%.
Mr. Zabre credited this performance to the taxpayers, management agents, and local driving forces, hoping for continued excellence in tax compliance and performance. Harouna Kombassere congratulated Mr. Zabre on his achievements and assured Mr. Ouedraogo of the administration's support in his mission.
