Koosin: The Catholic Workers' Action (ACT) of the Notre-Dame de Lourdes parish organized a Lenten walk this Sunday, March 15, 2026. The event, intended as a time of penance and reconciliation between humanity and God, brought together many parishioners of Notre-Dame de Lourdes, eager to prepare for the Easter celebration.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Lenten walk began at Notre-Dame de Lourdes school, following a symbolic route reminiscent of the Stations of the Cross, before arriving at the parish. This walk offered believers the opportunity to meditate deeply on the Passion of Christ, while renewing their faith in preparation for Easter.
At the end of the walk, the president of the Catholic Workers' Action (ACT), Jean Andre Dembele, warmly thanked the participants for their commitment and unwavering dedication in the spirit of fasting. "May this activity be fruitful for our spiritual lives," Mr. Dembele told the walkers.
In his homily, the parish chaplain, Father Henri Kienou, emphasized the importance of inner purification through prayer and conversion. He also invited each member of the faithful to prepare themselves spiritually for the journey towards Easter. According to the chaplain, the Lenten season is a profound call to reconciliation, both individual and collective.
The moments of prayer and meditation throughout the walk were experienced as a true testament of faith. Participants shared a time of Christian solidarity, thus strengthening community bonds within the ACT. The day concluded with a series of questions and reflections, encouraging each participant to consider their role in the pursuit of peace and social cohesion in the community.
