Conakry: Commander Aboubacar Diakite, widely recognized by his alias "Toumba," has passed away, as announced by the National Directorate of Penitentiary Administration and Reintegration of the Republic of Guinea. The Guinean Press Agency (AGP) reported that Diakite died on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Diakite was serving a sentence at the Coyah detention center in accordance with Guinean legal standards. A medical report, dated March 4, 2026, was prepared by Professors Houssein Fofana and Elhadj Yaya Balde of the Ignace Deen University Hospital Center. The report highlighted medical issues such as epigastric swelling, persistent abdominal pain, chronic constipation, and sleep disorders. This assessment was conducted in the presence of the public prosecutor from the court of first instance of Coyah and Diakite's legal counsel, Mr. Lancinet Sylla.

The source further reveals that on the night of March 23, 2026, Diakite faced a medical emergency and was transferred to the military hospital at Camp Samory Toure for specialized care.
