Days of Patriotic Commitment: Tanghin-Dassouri Calls for Mobilization Around Local Consumption

Tanghin-dassouri: The Prefecture of Tanghin-Dassouri hosted, on Thursday, a flag-raising ceremony marking the launch of the 3rd edition of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation, placed under the banner of patriotism and civic responsibility. Chaired by the prefect of the department, Rabiata Sawadogo, the ceremony mobilized workers from the prefecture and the town hall, members of the special municipal delegation, heads of decentralized services, associations, as well as customary and religious authorities and the defense and security forces.

According to Burkina Information Agency, one of the highlights of the activity was the reading of the message from the President of Faso, characterized by a direct and challenging tone on the consumption habits of the population. "Let's look at what we eat. What do we see? Rice that has crossed oceans?" relayed Ms. Sawadogo, quoting the Head of State, calling for a collective awareness.

The presidential message also calls for a surge of patriotism in the face of challenges to economic sovereignty. "Don't look for the enemy any further: he sometimes invites himself to our table two or three times a day," she continued. The Head of State also stressed the importance of promoting local products as a lever for economic independence: "Producing what we eat, processing what we produce, and consuming what we process, that is the path to our true independence!"

Placed under the slogan "My plate, my pride!", this initiative constitutes a call for a change of mentality in favour of promoting local products and strengthening civic engagement.
