Civic Action in Kelbo Honors Fallen Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland

Zondoma: a civic action to honor the memory of the fallen VDP: As part of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation (JEPPC), the people of Kelbo, under the initiative of the president of the special delegation, Fid¨le Bazemo, carried out on Saturday a cleaning operation of the municipal cemetery, in homage to the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) who fell for the Nation.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event saw a strong mobilization of traditional and religious authorities, community leaders, and residents of the town, who came to lend a hand in cleaning up this place of remembrance. Particular attention was paid to the graves of the fallen VDP (Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland), in recognition of their sacrifice in defense of the national territory.

PDS representative Fid¨le Bazemo stated that this initiative aims to maintain the cemetery while strengthening civic responsibility and a sense of duty among the community. He commended the participants' commitment and expressed his gratitude for their efforts. "We are fortunate to be alive; it is our duty to maintain these places. Anyone who was here yesterday and returns today will notice a significant change," he stated.

The top municipal official also described this action as a patriotic act, consistent with the objectives of the JEPPC, which aim to promote civic engagement and national solidarity.

Imam Bagueya Mahamoudou praised the PDS's initiative, reminding everyone that the cemetery is the final resting place of every human being. He emphasized that visiting the deceased and cleaning these places brings blessings, while also encouraging the community to recognize good deeds. Finally, he offered prayers for the departed and for the living.

This cleanup operation is part of the national dynamic of promoting civic-mindedness, patriotism, and citizen participation through the JEPPC.
