Ouagadougou: The High Commissioner of Boulgou Province, Domegbeguiere Constantin Dabire, presided over the installation ceremony of the new provincial director of the National Police of Boulgou, Chief Commissioner of Police Saliouf Billa, marked by tributes to the outgoing interim director Mohamed Sawadogo and commitments to strengthening security.
According to Burkina Information Agency, after a little over a year at the head of the provincial directorate on an interim basis, Mohamed Sawadogo has passed the torch. Reflecting on a period marked by major security challenges, including terrorist threats, community conflicts, and organized crime, he praised the resilience of his colleagues and the constant support from administrative authorities and the population. Sawadogo appreciated the collective commitment that led to significant achievements despite the enormity of the task. He expressed gratitude to all security and social stakeholders in the province, apologized for any shortcomings, and wished his successor every success.
The High Commissioner of Boulgou, Domegbeguiere Constantin Dabire, paid tribute to the outgoing director, highlighting his competence, availability, and the quality of collaboration during his interim period. Recognizing the complex security situation in this province bordering Ghana, he stressed the need for coordinated action between the defense and security forces, the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), and the local population. Billa emphasized that "Security is everyone's business," and he intends to strengthen community policing by listening to the concerns of the people to provide appropriate responses to each locality.
The High Commissioner invited the new director to consolidate the achievements and go further through inclusive leadership and close collaboration with other provincial services. He also urged the population to maintain their trust in the security forces and to become more involved in finding solutions to security challenges.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of various institutions, traditional and religious authorities, as well as relatives, friends, and colleagues of the two officials. All reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the security forces in their mission to protect people and property.
