Koulpelogo: As the 22nd edition of the National Culture Week (SNC) approaches, scheduled from April 25 to May 2, 2026, in Bobo-Dioulasso, the ambassadors of the Koulpelogo province in the fields of wrestling and slam are intensifying their preparation to worthily represent their region on the national stage, AIB observed on Tuesday.
According to Burkina Information Agency, in the arena, dust rises beneath the feet of the 19 wrestlers selected to represent the province. Between physical exercises, practice of holds, and mental strengthening, these athletes strive to reach peak performance in an atmosphere marked by rigor and determination.
The Provincial Director of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism for Koulpelogo, Patouinewende Belem, visited the training site on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, to encourage the province's representatives and inquire about their preparation conditions. He urged the athletes to be disciplined, fully committed, and persevere.
"It is not just about fighting, but about representing Koulpelogo with dignity," he said, calling on Koulpelogo's ambassadors to redouble their efforts to defend the province's honor.
In the same vein, the Provincial Director paid a courtesy visit to the President of the Special Delegation of Sangha, commending his constant support for local initiatives promoting traditional culture and sports.
Alongside the sporting preparations, the artistic scene is also thriving. Nabonswende Archange Koara, representing Koulpelogo in the slam poetry category, is putting in a series of rehearsals in Sangha. Between writing, diction work, and staging, the artist is meticulously refining his performance.
Determined to make his province shine, he promises to brilliantly defend the colors of Koulpelogo at the SNC, through texts inspired by social realities and local cultural values.
In Sangha, whether it's traditional wrestling or artistic expression, preparations continue with intensity. Athletes and artists, united by the same commitment, intend to leave their mark on the next edition of the National Culture Week, scheduled from April 25 to May 2, 2026, in Bobo-Dioulasso.
