Nakambe: The special envoy to the Presidency of Burkina Faso is mobilizing agricultural volunteers for food self-sufficiency. The mission officer to the Presidency of Faso in the Nakambe region, Adaman Kambone, conducted a field mission on April 20 and 21, 2026, in Sanga and Ouargaye. The visit featured exchange and awareness sessions with the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) involved in agricultural activities.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the purpose of each session was to strengthen direct dialogue with the beneficiaries, assess the progress of their agricultural activities, and evaluate their commitment to production. Kambone acknowledged the dedication of the agricultural VDP volunteers, referring to it as a "noble contribution" to national resilience. He encouraged them to apply the skills gained during their training, especially in nursery techniques, composting, and agricultural production, to enhance their yields.
"You have received quality training. It is now up to you to put it into practice to improve your living conditions and contribute to the development of your communities," Kambone emphasized.
Kambone also urged the volunteers to utilize local resources fully and diversify their production to maximize their income. Additionally, he recommended that agricultural VDPs form cooperatives to consolidate their efforts, ease access to state-subsidized inputs, and receive improved technical support.
During the discussions, participants shared their field experiences and challenges. In response, potential solutions were explored, such as improving site accessibility and enhancing support for producers. Despite the obstacles, Kambone encouraged the volunteers to maintain perseverance and solidarity.
The project manager expressed appreciation for the participants' engagement and the quality of the discussions, reaffirming the authorities' dedication to continue and enhance support for agricultural VDPs.
