Bamako: AES is committed to standing alongside Mali in the fight against terrorism to the very end. A delegation from the Confederation of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES), led by Burkina Faso's Minister of State for War and Patriotic Defense, Major General Celestin Simpore, expressed its solidarity with the Malian people at the Koulouba Palace following the death of General Sadio Camara, while reaffirming their shared determination to intensify the fight against terrorism. "As long as God gives us the breath of life, we will fight to the end," the head of the delegation declared.
According to Burkina Information Agency, after the tribute ceremony in honor of the late Army General Sadio Camara, the President of the Transition in Mali, Army General Assimi Gota, received in audience the delegation from the AES who came to convey the condolences of Burkina Faso and Niger.
At the end of the audience, the head of the delegation, Major General Celestin Simpore, paid tribute to the memory of an "eminent officer" whose commitment remains a benchmark for the Confederation. "This ceremony is worthy of history," he declared.
Emphasizing the significance of this visit, he stated, "We have come to express our compassion and reaffirm our solidarity." He also stressed that the struggle will continue "with even greater intensity" to honor the memory of the deceased.
The head of the AES delegation reported that President Gota thanked his AES peers for this mark of solidarity and fighting fraternity.
Finally, the Minister of War, General Celestin Simpore, addressed a firm message to the armed groups: "As long as God gives us the breath of life, we will fight to the end."
