Komondjari: The Head of the Basic Education District (CCEB) of Nobere, Sandaogo Prosper Ilboudo, affirmed on Monday that the construction of African identity necessarily involves the promotion of mother tongues, on the occasion of the launch of the activities of the Week of African Languages, held at the Nobere A public primary school, in the presence of teachers, students and parents of students.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the CCEB emphasized that national languages are an essential pillar of African culture and a means of transmitting endogenous values. "It is important to remember that through our mother tongues, we convey very rich and constructive messages, particularly through stories and proverbs," Ilboudo stated.
For one week, activities such as lessons taught in national languages, storytelling sessions, songs, poems, and proverbs will be organized in schools. Participants welcomed the initiative and pledged to contribute to the success of this week dedicated to African languages.
Through this initiative, the Nobere Basic Education District intends to strengthen the promotion of African languages in schools and raise awareness among learners of the importance of mother tongues in affirming African cultural identity.
