Boromo: Police Dismantle Drug Trafficking Site Near School

Boromo: As part of Operation Wibga2, a unit of the Republican Security Company (CRS) dismantled and arrested individuals involved in drug trafficking and consumption on the night of Saturday, May 2, and the afternoon of Monday, May 4, 2026. The operation resulted in the seizure of quantities of Indian hemp and other narcotics, and sales proceeds of 353,000 CFA francs.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Serge Dambr©, commander of the Boromo CRS (Compagnies R©publicaines de S©curit©), reported that the dismantled drug trafficking operation was a kiosk selling alcoholic beverages located in sector 3 of Boromo, about 100 meters from a secondary school. The owner, a man around 45 years old, was operating under the guise of selling alcohol, but he was actually trafficking cannabis and supplying a large consumer network.

In the sights of the police, a coordinated operation by elements of the Republican Security Company allowed the trafficker and four customers to be caught red-handed on the night of Saturday, May 2, 2026, with a batch of Indian hemp and other prohibited products.

In the ongoing operation to crack down on drug trafficking and user networks in and around the city of Boromo, a second group of three individuals was apprehended. The ringleader, a repeat offender, was found in possession of a significant quantity of cannabis, which he was selling.

Police also recovered 353,000 FCFA from him, representing the proceeds from previous sales. All seven individuals were handed over to the judicial police for further questioning.

Commander Dambr© congratulated his men on this second successful operation in the space of a month. He also called on the population to fully cooperate with all defense and security forces in order to eradicate trafficking networks and insecurity in the country.
