Yargatenga: The Basic Education District (CEB) of Yargatenga concluded the 2026 edition of the Organization of Sport and Culture in Primary School (OSCEP) on May 8 and 9, 2026, in Cinkans©. The event was centered around the theme: 'Development of civic-mindedness and patriotism through sport and culture in primary school'.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the activities were held under the high patronage of the President of the Special Delegation (PDS), Mahamadou Saramb©, and chaired by C-CEB Kibssa No«l Segda. The event brought together administrative authorities, teachers, parents, and students, all focused on promoting the values of civic duty, culture, and sports.
The first day of OSCEP was dedicated to cultural activities at School C in Cinkans©, showcasing dance performances, skits, recitals, storytelling, and other forms of entertainment. Seydou Maran©, representing the PDS party, highlighted the importance of educating "citizens rooted in their culture and open to the world." He praised the teachers' dedication and the robust support from parents.
Participants also explored the bustling market street, which featured a display of local dishes, soap-making products, "Koko dunda" loincloths, and various handicrafts, reflecting the local culture and craftsmanship.
In the cultural competitions, Cinkans© D school captured the audience with their compulsory dance to Miss Tanya's "Rakiir©," while Tounougou Ton© shone in the free-choice ballet to Floby's "Batoro Rama." Gorgo's school triumphed in the traditional dance competition, and Cinkans©'s C school excelled in the crack and sketch competitions.
The second day unfolded on the AS Douane de Cinkans© field, featuring the football final and a martial arts demonstration by the Ikpindi Karate Club. Despite challenging circumstances, 20 schools participated in 37 football matches over four months, as noted by C-CEB.
The football final saw Sabilil Houda face off against Central Islam. After a scoreless first half, Central Islam took the lead, but Hanane Pizongo equalized for Sabilil Houda. Ultimately, Sabilil Houda secured a 2-1 victory with a penalty.
An awards ceremony concluded the 48-hour event, celebrating the spirit of civic responsibility and fraternity fostered through sports and cultural activities.
