Sandbondtenga: The Franco-Arab school of Pensa emerged victorious in the football final, defeating Pensa A with a narrow 1-0 scoreline. This triumph marked the conclusion of the Organization of Sport and Culture in Primary School (OSCEP) activities within the Basic Education District (CEB) of Pensa.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the 2026 CEB Pensa OSCEP event revolved around the theme "Sport and culture: factors of resilience and social cohesion in schools." The football final drew a diverse audience, including students, educational stakeholders, and various local authorities, all gathered at the Pensa communal field to witness the event.
In a match characterized by sportsmanship and friendly competition, the Franco-Arab school of Pensa secured its position as the reigning champion by edging out Pensa A with a single goal. This victory allowed them to retain the title they held from the previous year, 2025. As a reward, the winning team received a trophy, a set of jerseys, a ball, and 25,000 CFA francs.
The runner-up, Pensa A, was awarded a set of jerseys, a ball, and 20,000 CFA francs. Teams from Pensa B and Ankouna schools, who finished in third and fourth places respectively, also received jerseys, a ball, and cash prizes.
Cultural competitions featuring traditional dances and recitals were also highlights of the CEB Pensa OSCEP 2026. The head of the Pensa CEB, YEwaya Samuel Sawadogo, expressed satisfaction with the event's successful organization, noting the challenging circumstances under which it was held. He emphasized the event's role in fostering unity, solidarity, and cultural expression among students.
Mr. Sawadogo acknowledged the dedication of all participants, particularly the defense and security forces, whose efforts ensured the event's success.
