Ziniare: The Circle for Islamic Studies, Research and Training (CERFI) officially launched, on Saturday in Ziniare, the first edition of the national competition for reciting the Holy Quran, an educational initiative aimed at promoting learning among Muslim youth.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the launch ceremony took place under the chairmanship of Inoussa Kounkorgo, CERFI's national secretary in charge of theology, who emphasized that the competition goes far beyond a simple contest. He highlighted the importance of integrating the Quran's messages, particularly respect for authority, brotherhood, and solidarity, into the lives of the candidates.
CERFI views this activity as part of a broader initiative focused on the spiritual, moral, and civic education of youth. This aligns with their longstanding efforts in Islamic education and the promotion of peace and social cohesion. The regional coordinator of CERFI Oubri, El Hadj Assane Sampawende Derme, expressed his pride in Ziniare hosting the launch of this prestigious first national edition and expressed hope that a candidate from Ziniare might claim the top prize.
Through this competition, CERFI aims to foster excellence, discipline, and healthy competition among participants, while reinforcing Islamic values of peace and community living.
