Moussa Kargougou Provincial High School Clinches Victory in Sandbondtenga DP Cup

Bangrin: The second edition of the Sandbondtenga Provincial Director of Secondary, Vocational and Technical Education Cup concluded with Moussa Kargougou Provincial High School of Kaya emerging victorious in the U23 men's football final against Bangrin High School, securing a 1-0 win.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the DP Cup highlighted the active participation and sporting dedication of the province's educational institutions. The 2026 edition included tournaments for women's handball (U17 and U20) and men's football (U18 and U23). In the U18 boys' football category, Saint Corneille Private High School triumphed over Zoodo Private High School. In the U23 segment, Moussa Kargougou Provincial High School bested both Bangrin High School and Naaba Sonr© High School of Boussouma, which finished third.

Victorious teams in each category were awarded a trophy, medals, a monetary prize of 75,000 CFA francs, a set of jerseys, and a ball. Runners-up and third-place teams received 50,000 CFA francs and 35,000 CFA francs, respectively.

In women's handball, Moussa Kargougou Provincial High School also excelled, winning both the U17 and U20 categories against Wennongdo Private High School and Bangrin High School. The rewards mirrored those in football, including trophies, cash prizes, jerseys, and balls for the champions, with monetary awards for second and third places.

Idrissa Gamsonr©, the High Commissioner of Sandbondtenga province, presided over the ceremony, commending the initiative and the educational community's commitment. He emphasized that the DP Cup is crucial for fostering cohesion and advancing school sports in the province.

The event, initiated on February 4, 2026, saw participation from 56 teams across 34 institutions, underscoring the growing significance of sports in education.
