Houet: The Monseigneur Anselme Titianma Sanon House of Culture hosted the 8th edition of the English Club On Savane FM (ECOSFM) on Monday, May 25, 2026, under the theme: ‘Building peace and resilience through education and English learning in BF’ (‘Building peace through education and learning English in Burkina Faso’).
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was held under the patronage of the president of the Movement Nothing is worth more than my Homeland, Alhassane Konat©. It brought together students, teachers, educational actors, and English language enthusiasts in an academic, cultural, and patriotic setting.
The club’s president, Boureima Siabi, stated that the initiative aims to promote English learning while raising awareness among young people about the values of peace, social cohesion, and global openness. The event featured artistic and educational performances such as poetry recitations, slam poetry, English sketches, educational dialogues, and dance acts.
A key highlight was the English public speaking competition, which impressed participants with the quality of presentations and the candidates’ speaking skills. Organizers appreciated the strong support from educational authorities and guests, emphasizing that the initiative has become a platform for young learners to express and showcase their talents.
Club leaders noted that education and language proficiency are vital for strengthening social resilience and fostering community in a context faced with numerous challenges.
