Rome: On the occasion of the celebration of Eid al-Adha, Tabaski, the Ambassador of Burkina Faso to Italy, Cyrille GANOU/BADOLO, addressed a message of peace, solidarity, and patriotism to the Burkinabe community living in Italy as well as to all Muslims.

According to Burkina Information Agency, in her message, the diplomat expressed wishes for peace, health, fraternity, and prosperity to the Burkinabe diaspora and the entire Muslim community. She indicated that the commemoration of the sacrifice of the prophet Abraham serves as a source of inspiration to cultivate compassion, generosity, courage, as well as a sense of devotion to serving one’s neighbor and country.

The ambassador emphasized that this sacred festival also recalls the fundamental values of the Burkinab¨ people, including solidarity, dignity, unity, and attachment to the Nation. She highlighted that Burkina Faso is currently navigating a decisive stage in its history under the leadership of the President of Faso, Comrade Captain Ibrahim Traor©.

“This historic dynamic now transcends the borders of our country and inspires an entire generation of young Africans aspiring to a free, strong, sovereign, and respected Africa,” she stated. Addressing Burkinabe residents in Italy specifically, she urged them to remain united, supportive, and respectful of the laws of the host country, while staying attached to the values of their country of origin.

She praised their contribution to the influence of Burkina Faso through their work, sense of responsibility, and daily actions. Citing an African proverb that says “when spiderwebs unite, they can tie up a lion,” the diplomat stressed the importance of strengthening cohesion and patriotic spirit within the diaspora.

The ambassador also expressed her thoughts for the Fighting Forces, the bereaved families, and all those committed to peace, security, and stability in Burkina Faso. She encouraged Muslim faithful and all Burkinabe to offer prayers for peace, social cohesion, and progress in Burkina Faso, the Alliance of Sahel States (AES), and the African continent.

“May God bless Burkina Faso. May God protect our people,” she concluded, before wishing a happy Tabaski to the entire Burkinab¨ diaspora living in Italy.
