M©guet: The football final of the Organization of Sport, Culture and Recreation at Primary School (OSCLEP) of the Basic Education District (CEB) of M©guet was played on Thursday, June 18, 2026, on the communal field of the locality.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was held under the theme “Sport and culture: levers of resilience and social cohesion in times of crisis” and attracted students, teachers, authorities, and the local population. The final match saw the M©guet “A” school team face off against the Vinnogo team, with M©guet “A” securing victory by 2 goals to 1.
During the first half, M©guet “A” took the lead by scoring two goals, heading into the break with a 2-0 advantage. In the second half, Vinnogo adopted a more aggressive strategy, managing to score a goal and creating several opportunities to equalize. However, their efforts were not enough to change the score, which remained 2-1 until the match concluded.
The event was graced by several dignitaries, including the first vice-president of the special delegation of M©guet, Justin Korsaga, representing the president of the special delegation, the provincial director of preschool, primary and non-formal education of Ganzourgou, Nobila C©lestine Zagr©/Zoungrana, His Majesty Naba Saaga of M©guet, the Secretary General of the commune, Yacouba Ouattara, and the Head of the CEB of M©guet, Nongaouagr© Koalaga, among other guests.
During her speech, Provincial Director Nobila C©lestine Zagr©/Zoungrana praised the educational community for organizing the event and highlighted the technical prowess of both teams. She noted that the competition helped unveil young talent and urged education stakeholders to increase their support for future editions due to limited resources.
Head of the CEB, Nongaouagr© Koalaga, also lauded the success of this edition but expressed regret over the limited scope of the cultural aspects, citing financial constraints. He congratulated the winning M©guet “A” team and offered encouragement to the Vinnogo team for their commendable efforts despite the loss.
With this victory, the M©guet ‘A’ school enhances its reputation and solidifies its standing as a leading force in school football within the CEB of M©guet.
