Ouagadougou: Thirty-four agricultural Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), including seven women and twenty-seven men, met this Friday in the meeting room of the Satiri town hall for a presentation and discussion session on preparations for the 2026 winter agricultural campaign.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting was chaired by the president of the special delegation (PDS) of the municipality, Emmanuel Ou©draogo, assisted by the secretary general, Zana Traor©. The municipal authorities urged the agricultural volunteers to demonstrate seriousness and commitment, assuring them that the State would provide them with the necessary resources for a successful campaign.
The PDS (Project Development Service) notably promised to plow the site and provide agricultural inputs. It urged the beneficiaries to fully commit themselves to making the commune of Satiri one of the largest agricultural production areas in Burkina Faso. It also indicated that any volunteer unwilling to work should withdraw from the program.
Speaking at the event, the head of the VDP, Mamourou Ou©draogo, praised the commitment of the volunteers and thanked the PDS for its dedication to the development of the commune.
On behalf of the agricultural VDP, Adama Traor© and Brama Traor© expressed their satisfaction with the 19.5-hectare production site located in Sokourani. They reaffirmed their commitment to working diligently to achieve good yields and contribute to the agricultural development of the Satiri commune.
