National Tree Day in Ziro: 30,000 Seedlings to Transform Concessions into Green Spaces

Ziro/sapouy: The province of Ziro marked the 8th edition of National Tree Day this Saturday with a strong mobilization of administrative authorities and populations around the theme: 'My concession, my tree'. The High Commissioner of the Ziro province, Saba Zorom©, gave the starting signal for the activities by planting his seedling in Sapouy, thus reaffirming the commitment of the provincial authorities to the restoration of the vegetation cover and the protection of the environment.

According to Burkina Information Agency, following this symbolic gesture, the provincial authority visited the plant sales point to verify their availability to the public. It then toured several compounds to ensure that residents had truly embraced this year's theme.

The High Commissioner stated that 30,000 seedlings are planned for Ziro province as part of the national reforestation campaign. He urged the population to become more involved in planting trees and, above all, in their care, an essential condition for ensuring their survival and contributing sustainably to the fight against environmental degradation.

'Planting a tree is a civic act that contributes to preserving our living environment and combating the effects of climate change,' he emphasized.

Through this initiative, the authorities intend to strengthen the environmental awareness of the population and make each concession a space contributing to the restoration of the national forest heritage.
