Fada n'gourma: The governor of the Goulmou region, Ram Joseph Kafando, officially commenced the oral and written examinations for the 2026 baccalaureate at the Diaba Lompo High School in Fada N'Gourma. The examinations, involving candidates from the Goulmou, Sirba, and Tapoa regions, see the participation of 3,906 candidates, including 2,141 girls and 1,765 boys.

According to Burkina Information Agency, prior to the start of the exams, Governor Kafando and his delegation provided guidance to the candidates, encouraging them to approach the tests with calmness, discipline, and responsibility. Addressing the candidates, he emphasized the importance of honesty and competence in the ongoing rebuilding process in Burkina Faso.

Governor Kafando urged the candidates to avoid fraudulent practices during the exams and in their everyday lives. He stressed the need for confidence and determination while adhering to examination rules, aiming to achieve their initial university degree with integrity. He also commended the contributions of educational system stakeholders and the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) in ensuring the smooth conduct of the exams across the regions.

Gabriel Sawadogo, the regional director of Secondary Education and Vocational and Technical Training of Goulmou, reported that 3,906 candidates are participating in this baccalaureate session. This number reflects a decline from the 2025 session, which saw 4,519 candidates. The reduction is attributed to a decrease in independent candidates and certain security-related challenges.

Sawadogo affirmed that comprehensive organizational, administrative, and security measures were implemented to facilitate optimal exam conditions. He expressed appreciation for the dedication of teachers, administrative staff, educational supervisors, and the Defense and Security Forces in the successful organization of the national examination.

For the candidates, this baccalaureate session represents a crucial milestone toward higher education and professional integration.
