Zondoma: The special delegation of the commune of L¨ba in the province of Zondoma met with the population on Saturday, July 4, 2025, to review the achievements of 2025. A review deemed satisfactory by the residents.
According to Burkina Information Agency, under the chairmanship of Comrade Koanfanou D©bora Koadiari, the special delegation of the commune of L¨ba invited the entire population to a day of accountability which was held on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at the town hall. The chairperson emphasized that the session aimed to respect the principles set forth in the General Code of Local Authorities (CGCT) and to encourage citizen participation in local affairs. In her opening remarks, she invited participants to raise necessary questions related to municipal life and propose ideas for improved management and development.
The report, focusing exclusively on activities in 2025, covered various aspects of municipal life. It included the status of transferred responsibilities, the operation of municipal services, budget execution, the municipality's financial health, and the implementation of resolutions. Harouna Bonkoungou, the municipality's secretary general, presented the comprehensive report to a large audience.
A highlight of the report was the City Hall's revenue collection service, which collected over 6,000,000 CFA francs against a projected 4,167,000 CFA francs, achieving a collection rate of 154.78%. Approximately 60,000,000 CFA francs were invested in the local economy and governance.
Following the presentation, participants proposed suggestions for improving the 2026 management plan. Adama Ou©draogo from the village of Sanh expressed satisfaction with the event's organization and the results, especially the revenue collection service's performance. Sadou Ou©draogo, Secretary General of the Passor© Province, moderated the proceedings, commending the community for its interest in local affairs and urging them to remain engaged.
Several recommendations were made, and a five-person commission was established to monitor their implementation. This session was part of the Decentralisation and Citizen Participation Support Programme (DEPAC3), supported by the citizenship laboratory in collaboration with Swiss cooperation.
