Inauguration of Roundabout Honoring Captain Ibrahim Traor in Koundouba

Ouagadougou: A roundabout dedicated to Captain Ibrahim Traor was inaugurated on Saturday, July 11, 2026, in the village of Koundouba amidst prayers and blessings for the actors of the Progressive Popular Revolution (RPP).According to Burkina Information Agency, the provincial coordination of Zondoma's citizen vigilance continues the construction and inauguration of roundabouts, which are now regarded as strongholds of the Progressive Popular Revolution (RPP). The event, held about ten kilometers from Gourcy, was led by Oumarou Oudraogo, the provincial coordinator, and his team. The roundabout was built by the villagers to honor Captain Ibrahim Traor.The inauguration ceremony was sponsored by Issoufou Sanga, a native of the village, and featured several speeches and artistic performances by local celebrities. The village's traditional chief representative and the imam were the first to speak, offering prayers and blessings for the RPP actors, especially Captain Ibrahim Traor, whom they view as a savior o f the nation.Other speakers praised the RPP's efforts and encouraged the youth and all local forces to unite and mobilize further for territorial defense and development actions. They emphasized that the roundabout should symbolize and realize this popular mobilization. The sponsor urged the youth to remain united and continue the fight for land reclamation, which he said is essential for the nation's development.Before the ribbon-cutting, marking the infrastructure's inauguration, provincial president Oumarou Oudraogo commended the strong turnout despite climatic constraints, indicating the importance the people of Koundouba place on the event. Oudraogo also paid tribute to the fighting forces, who, with courage and determination, are progressively liberating the country. He conveyed gratitude from local authorities and encouraged continued support for the nation's leaders.The ceremony also featured a presentation on APEC, one of Burkina's presidential initiatives for national development.
