Ouagadougou: The third edition of the Yaana Cultural Days, organized by the Association for the Promotion of Culture and Development of Nakamb (APCD-N), concluded on Sunday, July 19, 2026, in Ouargaye, highlighting three days of activities centered around the theme: 'Living together'.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event commenced on Friday, July 17, 2026, featuring an opening ceremony and a public conference on the theme of living together. This conference was held in the meeting room of the Ouargaye town hall and led by Armand Noukoubri, the Head of the Ouargaye Basic Education District (CEB).
During the event's duration, participants engaged in various cultural activities, such as traditional dance performances, exhibitions, presentation and tasting of local dishes, and reforestation activities. These initiatives aimed to promote Yaana culture, strengthen community ties, and raise environmental awareness among the attendees.
The official closing ceremony was led by Sadou Oudraogo, the High Commissioner of the province of Koulplogo, and witnessed the presence of various Presidents of the Special Delegations (PDS) of the communes in the province. Mahamadou Soulama of the Ouargaye Democratic Party (PDS) commended Harouna Koudougou, president of APCD-N, and his team for their efforts. He acknowledged the commitment of cultural stakeholders and the active participation of the Ouargaye population.
Harouna Koudougou expressed satisfaction with the successful holding of the third edition, noting the strong turnout and overcoming initial doubts about the feasibility of such cultural activities in Ouargaye. He extended gratitude to all contributors and partners for their support.
High Commissioner Sadou Oudraogo appreciated the contributions from various partners and praised the organizers for the successful execution of the cultural days. The event concluded with artistic performances and the presentation of certificates of recognition to several individuals and contributors who played a significant role in the event's success.
