Ouagadougou: The 6th edition of Top Vacances Culture 'A Bila Jama' was launched on Saturday, July 18, 2026, in Fada N'Gourma, aiming to promote culture. This initiative, organized by the Gulmu Productions association, seeks to provide children with a platform to express their talents while instilling in them cultural and civic values.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the promoter of Top Vacances Culture 'A Bila Jama' and president of the Goulmu Productions association, Soumaye Boly, indicated that the event serves as a cultural showcase intended to engage children during the school holidays. This initiative not only allows young participants to reveal their talents but also includes awareness sessions to cultivate model citizens for Burkina Faso.
The 6th edition is themed "Youth and culture, pillars of peace for sustainable national sovereignty." Mr. Boly emphasized that this theme reflects the organizers' intention to instill social and cultural values in children from a young age, encouraging them to become actors of peace and social cohesion.
The competitions feature various cultural activities, including ballet, playback, slam poetry, traditional dance, karaoke, and a fashion show showcasing Faso Danfani fabric. Open to girls and boys aged 4 to 17, regardless of schooling status, the competition focuses on the children of internally displaced persons and those from host communities, aiming to strengthen community spirit and friendships.
The promoter expressed gratitude for the continued trust from parents since the event's inception in 2021, despite security challenges and constraints from the Covid-19 pandemic. He appealed to partners and sponsors to support the initiative by providing rewards such as bicycles, school supplies, or clothing for the children.
Mr. Boly highlighted the 2026 edition's major innovation: the participation of young talents from Top Vacances Culture in the National Culture Week (SNC) for the first time. He noted that several children have already begun artistic careers in music and slam poetry, joining professional studios.
Musician Adamou Koanda, known as Kael Adams, praised the initiative for preparing the next generation of Burkinabe cultural talent. He encouraged parents to support the activity, viewing it as an excellent framework for transmitting cultural values and promoting Burkinabe artists to the younger generation.
