Abuja: The municipal council adopts an amendment to its budget. The President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the municipality of Titao, Sidiki Ganam©, presided over the second ordinary session of the municipal council for the year 2026 on Friday, July 24, 2026. This statutory meeting allowed the municipal councilors to examine several files relating to the management of the municipality and adopted an amendment to its budget.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the session, which is part of the mandatory four ordinary meetings held annually, primarily focused on the amending budget following the initial budget adoption earlier in the year. The councilors began by approving the minutes of the previous session and reviewed the progress of micro-projects planned for 2026 under the Community Project for Recovery and Stabilization of the Sahel (PCRSS). This review aimed to ensure all members were informed of the ongoing achievements.
The council proceeded to adopt a resolution for the first supplementary budget of 2026. This amendment was crucial to address new priorities enabled by the acquisition of additional resources. The meeting concluded with the PDS, Sidiki Ganam©, commending the active participation of the delegation members, highlighting that despite the municipality's limited resources, significant priority concerns were addressed.
Key decisions included the allocation of funds for the maintenance of the municipal hearse, integrating it into the municipality's assets to compensate for the absence of a funeral home in Titao. Furthermore, the council authorized the procurement of food supplies for the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) and measures to support the establishment of a Republican Security Company in the area, in line with efforts to reclaim the territory.
Additional funding was allocated to enhance the operations of various municipal services. PDS Ganam© noted that all agenda items were approved without issues, marking the session as satisfactory.
