Abuja: The second round of the seasonal malaria chemoprevention (CPS) campaign took place from July 23 to 26, 2026, in the health area of the Founzan Health and Social Promotion Center (CSPS), under the coordination of the head nurse of the post (ICP), Issouf Ou©draogo. Community health workers are making rounds to administer Sulfadoxine-Pyrimethamine and Amodiaquine (SPAQ) to healthy children aged 3 to 59 months, while children who are sick are referred to health facilities for treatment.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the campaign also includes malnutrition screening, catch-up vaccinations, and household awareness campaigns on malaria prevention measures. ICP Issouf Ou©draogo emphasized the importance of the SPC as a crucial intervention to protect children from malaria during the rainy season.

He has encouraged parents to warmly welcome healthcare workers and ensure that eligible children receive the correct treatment. He also called for community mobilization to ensure no eligible child is overlooked, aiming to protect children in the Founzan commune from malaria effectively.
