Banwa: The first ordinary session of the year of the Banwa provincial consultation framework was held on Friday, August 7, 2026, in the meeting room of the Burkinabe Textile Fiber Company (SOFITEX) in Solenzo under the chairmanship of the province's high commissioner, Sanfinal Joseph Sirima. The meeting was attended by officials from decentralized technical services, customary and religious authorities, as well as representatives of women's associations, youth organizations, and senior citizens.

According to Burkina Information Agency, four presentations filled the discussions during this session. The first presentation focused on the innovations contained in the general code of local authorities, allowing participants to better understand the changes made to local governance and the management of municipal affairs. The second presentation centered on innovations in the personal and family code in Burkina Faso, with discussions focusing on new provisions relating to marriage and filiation, aiming to ensure their adoption by local communities.

The third presentation dealt with innovations relating to freedom of association, providing civil society organization leaders and association leaders insight into the legal framework now governing the creation and operation of associations in the country. Finally, the fourth presentation focused on the interventions of the Burkina Faso Red Cross in the Banwa province, offering an overview of the humanitarian actions carried out with vulnerable populations, particularly in areas such as first aid, assistance to internally displaced persons, and community awareness-raising.

At the end of the work, participants praised the quality of the communications and formulated recommendations for better dissemination of this information to grassroots populations through traditional and community channels in the province.
