Bissiga: Staff from the Bissiga Basic Education District (CEB) in Boulgou Province, led by District Chief Michel Boundaogo, planted 22 seedlings this Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Bissiga School 'A', Bissiga School 'C', and at the CEB headquarters. This activity supports the presidential initiative for restoring vegetation cover.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the representative of the president of the special delegation, Charles Delma, 2nd vice-president, stated that this action aims to offer a more pleasant learning and working environment for students and teachers. He encouraged other department heads to participate in similar activities to re-green the services and the entire municipality.

For the Head of the Basic Education District (CCEB) of Bissiga, Michel Boundaogo, this citizen initiative is a first for his structure. 'We do not intend to stop now. We will make this initiative permanent and extend it to all other schools in the district. It is up to us to set an example to encourage school principals to follow,' he said. He acknowledged the support of his close collaborators, including inspectors and all CEB staff.

The representative of the beneficiaries, Thodore Delma, president of the Bissiga 'A' School Council, welcomed the initiative and expressed gratitude for this eco-citizen gesture. "We pledge to maintain and protect these trees for the happiness of our children," he stated.

The head of the departmental environmental service, Lieutenant Bassori Dissa, emphasized the importance of monitoring the plants. "We encourage the monitoring of these plants so that they can develop well for the benefit of all, especially the students of the beneficiary schools," he urged.

Participants concluded the event in a friendly atmosphere, agreeing to reconvene next year to assess the survival rate of the planted seedlings.
