Tenkodogo: The High Commissioner of the Boulgou province, Constantin Dabir, presided on Wednesday in Tenkodogo over the rotating ceremony of raising the national colors at the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture, Water, Animal and Fisheries Resources (DPAERAH). The ceremony took place in the presence of constituted bodies, defense and security forces (FDS), and local development actors.

According to Burkina Information Agency, following the flag-raising ceremony, the Provincial Director of Agriculture, Water, Animal Resources, and Fisheries, Issa Pabgo, presented the missions and responsibilities of his department. He expressed his gratitude to the High Commissioner for choosing his department to host this event. The Provincial Director then reviewed ongoing activities in the agriculture, water, and livestock sectors. He discussed crop maintenance work, progress made in livestock farming with the introduction of pregnant heifers imported from Brazil by a promoter based in the commune of Zons, and the outlook for the current agricultural season. He also announced that a late end to the rainy season is expected in the Nakamb region.

Speaking at the event, the High Commissioner commended the efforts of rural stakeholders in implementing government initiatives to promote food sovereignty. He reiterated that actions undertaken in agriculture, water, and livestock farming are part of the national policy to strengthen food self-sufficiency. Comrade Dabire congratulated provincial stakeholders for the results achieved during the month of July, particularly in conducting the mandatory patriotic immersion program and for the cash and in-kind contributions mobilized for this initiative. He also thanked the technical and financial partners, the organizations working in the agriculture and livestock sectors, as well as the students in attendance.

For his part, the representative of the Provincial Directorate of the National Police (DPPN) raised awareness among participants about E-verbalisation, an innovation of the Ministry of Security launched on August 1, 2026, in Ouagadougou, with a view to strengthening the repression of violations of the Highway Code. He specified that the pilot phase currently concerns four-wheeled vehicles and specifically targets violations such as not wearing a seatbelt, speeding, using a mobile phone while driving, and running red lights. He urged road users to respect the 50 km/h speed limit in built-up areas.

The ceremony ended with a visit to the exhibition stands of local products and the experimental and study plots operated by the trainees of the DPAERAH.
