Ouagadougou: The President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the municipality of P´, Ilassa Dianda, presided over the third extraordinary session of the year for the municipality on Monday, August 10, 2026. The Special Delegation adopted two resolutions: one concerning an investment for combating Gender-Based Violence (GBV), and the other concerning the relocation of the site for the construction of a simplified mini-water supply system (AEPS) in the municipality of P´.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the members of the special delegation of P´ examined two draft resolutions on Monday, August 10, 2026, during their third extraordinary session of the year 2026. One petition, led by the Association of Young Women of Nahouri (AJFN), advocates for the inclusion in the Municipal Development Plan (PCD) of an investment dedicated to combating Gender-Based Violence (GBV), and the other concerns a change of site for the implementation of a simplified mini drinking water supply (AEPS) in the municipality of P´.
After a plea made by the coordinator of the AJFN, Kadoua Wetta/Abem, requesting a financial and institutional commitment to the fight against GBV in the commune of P´, the 16 members present gave their approval for the adoption of the said resolution. For Ms. Wetta, this adoption is a step forward that will allow the municipality to now have a dedicated line to finance actions for prevention, awareness, and support for victims of GBV. She also wanted a site for the construction of their headquarters.
The members also examined and adopted a draft resolution concerning a change of site for the construction of a mini AEPS in the municipality of P´. At the end of the discussions, the President of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of P´, Ilassa Dianda, praised the spirit of cohesion and serenity that prevailed during the work, reflecting a shared satisfaction between the local authorities and civil society for the well-being of the people of P´. The municipal authority also welcomed the association's initiative and reaffirmed the municipality's commitment to supporting the fight against all forms of violence against women and girls.
